Honor the Legacy of Mayor Bill Brand
The founder of “Our Neighborhood Voices”, Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand passed away peacefully after fighting cancer for four years.
Bill was a visionary leader who founded the statewide campaign Our Neighborhood Voices to address the state’s overreach in dictating local land-use decisions in California. Bill knew in his heart, years before most leaders, that only residents and their elected officials knew their own neighborhoods well enough to thoughtfully govern local land-use decisions — these should not be given away by Sacramento. He realized that only a change to California’s Constitution could protect local democracy and give residents back their voices in decisions affecting their neighborhoods and our coastlines, rather than Sacramento.
We ask you to join us in honoring Bill Brand and his vision for California, and his mission to return control of our neighborhoods to residents and their local elected leaders. Honor the lasting legacy by donating to Our Neighborhood Voices’ Mayor Bill Brand Memorial Fund.
